TRX Crosscore - Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What are TRX Suspension® and CrossCore® methods of Training?
Suspension Training gives athletes and fitness pros a new and innovative program that will take you to the next level in fitness. The TRX or CrossCore training method added to your current fitness workout will assist in building strength, endurance, balance, flexibility and core stability. Take your volleyball, surfing, golf, basketball, snowboard, running, or hockey skills to the next level.
  2. Who will benefit from Suspension Training?
Everyone can benefit because at SweatFitness RB, our experienced trainers controls the resistance and level of difficulty based on your current level of athletic ability, endurance and strength. The TRX® Suspension Trainer™ and CrossCore® are critical methods for rehabilitation, intense athletic training, and everything in between. Suspension training allows for complete range of motion throughout a workout, which in turn creates a more functional, safer and successful method of training for our client.
  3. How is Suspension Training® different from other types of resistance training?
Traditional weight training tends to work one muscle at a time which is contradictory to a normal coordinated muscle effort used in most activities in life. Focusing on only one muscle at a time can lead to overuse injuries and muscular imbalances, as well as potentially limit strength and movement gains. Both Pilates and TRX allow for the use of multiple planes of motion, working multiple muscles and joints throughout a workout. We believe that functional training is the smarter and more effective way to train.
  4. I've heard the TRX®, CrossCore® and Pilates are great for rehabilitation after an injury?
Many physical therapists use both Pilates and the TRX to help their patients during the recovery process from injuries. Being able to adjust resistance with our studio equipment makes functional training successful at all levels of practice.
  5. How long are the workouts?
Training is 55 minutes in length.
  6. How is the CrossCore® workout different from the TRX?

At our studio, we integrate them both into all circuit training sessions.
